Tips to get the best rental home experience:

When to book a Morehead City rental & When to go:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Morehead City restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and choosing the best Morehead City rental:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Queens Court 3303, Oceanview Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City destination you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
