Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer time is high season in the Morehead City area. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking yourrental:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Double Queen-Unit 201 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
