The towns of North Carolina’s Crystal Coast have a appeal all their own, and something to offer everybody.

Our condo is located in the Southern Outer Banks, in the town of Pine Knoll Shores. Its location in between Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle offers visitors the unspoiled beauty of the pristine beaches while still being in close proximity to an array of boating and fishing activities, shopping, and dining in eateries specializing in fresh local seafood.

The rich history of the area is evident whether you are strolling the streets of Beaufort, the third oldest city in North Carolina, exploring the grounds of Fort Macon National Park or scuba diving the Graveyard of the Atlantic in search of Blackbeard's famed ship 'Queen Anne's Revenge'.

Our three bedroom, 2-1/2 bath unit offers you everything you need for a ideal family vacation get-a-way. Ocean Glen is a modest, peaceful complex located on the barrier island of Bogue Banks. It is located in the maritime forest right next to the 200 acres of the Theodore Roosevelt Natural Preserve. The beach is wide and uncrowded. It has a friendly, family ambiance. You can meet and mingle with the other Ocean Glen visitors or maintain your privacy - the choice is yours.

Take a day to discover the surrounding areas, the close by historic town of Beaufort, Morehead City and the striking oceanside community of Swansboro. Appreciate discovering the area with many stores, eateries and other attractions that are just a fast bicycle ride away.

The Master Bedroom has a full private bath, king-size bed and balcony with a fabulous view of the beach, ocean and the Theodore Roosevelt Preserve. At nighttime you can see the Cape Lookout Lighthouse flashing in the distance. There are two other bedrooms - one with a trundle bed that opens into a king size bed, and the other with a queen. These rooms share the 2nd full bath. Downstairs there is a completely-equipped kitchen, dining room, sunroom, huge living room, plus a half bath. Since the beach faces the south, you can relax and savor yourself on the deck and watch spectacular sunrises and/or sunsets. You will see tons of pelicans flying in formation, egrets and often times you will see porpoises off shore.

How to find the best Pine Knoll Shores rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by having your family select a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Two Steps to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
