How to get the best deal on your rental

  • Search for the tourism bureau where you want to travel. Most established tourism bureaus will offer you printed travel guide books with promotions for rental homes, dining and activities. These guides can provide an excellent start to your rental search.
  • Could you change your dates? Off-peak rates are usually a fraction of peak pricing.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Military may qualify for discounts. Be sure to confirm with property manager to see if your travelling gang qualifies for a reduction.
  • Is there a specific experience you are mainly anticipating ? Be sure to prioritize your proximity to the family activities and sights you are most looking forward to.
  • Think about getting trip insurance along with your lease contract. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay cost, provides travellers reimbursement of their vacation expenses for any days missed due to personal medical-related emergencies or weather, and additionally ensuing extra hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected motel stay or additional gasoline. Trip insurance might just be a bank account-saver if the unforseen happens .

  • Make sure to walk through the rental home one final time and check for property damage. If it is possible, do this walk-out assessment with the property owner present. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • How was your getaway? Most vacation rental management companies and rental home sites permit travellers to offer reviews. If the vacation rental and/or property manager was top-notch, they'll appreciate your compliments. If anything was disagreeable and they failed to fix it in a acceptable manner, or when the rental home was not as described, you may want to note that as part of your critique.

Learn from your Stay

Hold a meeting with the members of your group. Did they love their stay? With a little luck everything turned out to be wonderful and you're ready to reserve the same property for next year. Maybe the rental property wasn't ideal, and you'll better recognize how to filter your search for the next vacation.
