Tips and Tricks to get the best Morehead City rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • To book the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Morehead City restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Morehead City rental:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Stunning oceanfront views just steps from the deck; steps, sand, waves! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
