How to get the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. RARE OCEANFRONT STUDIO, private outdoor area. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
