Strategies to get the optimal vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Beaufort. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting and booking the best Morehead City rental:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Darling Cottage Nestled In Our Garden! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If not, email the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
