Strategies for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in New Bern:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Condo overlooking the Marina! has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
