Hot Pursuit is new to the charter world but not to fishing. USCG Captain Chris has been fishing the coastal waters off NC for the past 20 years. Join us on our 35 foot Pursuit powered by two 350 hp Yamaha engines which will get you to the fishing grounds fast. She is equipped with the latest safety equipment, a toilet and some of the best fishing technologies that exist on the market including a sonar and electric trolling motor to find and stay on the fish. There is also a custom fighting chair installed for ultimate comfort and security when reeling in those larger pelagic.
If you’re up for some shallow-water action, species such as Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and others are available. For those who prefer the deep blue, you can go after King and Spanish Mackerel, Great Barracuda, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, even a Sailfish if you come across one. The crew will employee a variety of techniques including the use of outriggers, downriggers and live bait to make sure your trip has the best chance of success to locate and land that fish of a lifetime. We can customize the trip to whatever kind of fishing you want to do but the Captain’s preferred technique is trolling and bottom fishing. The fishing gear used is top of the line Shimano Tiagra and Penn rods and reels.
Whether you are a novice or experience angler the crew welcomes all skill levels and our ultimate job is making sure you have a safe and memorable experience on your trip. There is no minimum age for the 4 hour trips and families with younger children are highly encouraged but for longer charters we recommend that children be at least 8 years old for their enjoyment.
Fish cleaning, filleting, ice and fishing license is available free of charge - just remember to bring a cooler to store your catch. Bring your favorite drinks and food and we will take care of everything else.
