Our top Rental booking tips:

When to book a Morehead City rental home & When to go:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • To find the best value, try shifting your family's Morehead City vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in Pine Knoll Shores:

  • To start, have your group agree to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Townhouse, The NEW G-5 completely remodeled Spring 2019! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
