Tips and Tricks to get the best Morehead City rental home experience:

When to visit Beaufort & When to book:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer is high season in the Morehead City area. To book the best rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Morehead City restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick yourrental:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Best deal in Beaufort, pet-friendly, with extra perks! Ideal for Travel Nurses! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email the host before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
