Tricks and tips to get the perfect Morehead City vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Booking your Morehead City vacation rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best rental home in Pine Knoll Shores:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. A Gritty Palace. Gorgeous. Oceanfront. Pool and Hot Tub! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
