Tips to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the largest rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best rental:

  • Select your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 200 Boardwalk, Oceanfront House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
