How to find the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking your Morehead City vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Spectacular Views! Fantastic modern condo right on the water! Unit 201 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
