Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Finding the best rental home:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Feeling Tipsea 1 (Downstairs Unit) in Beaufort, NC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
