How to find the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best rental:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Fairfield Harbour resort with WI-FI and Recreation Center membership included has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Advice for a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
