How to find the best Morehead City rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Beaufort. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking a perfect Morehead City rental:

  • Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Fishermen's Paradise, 10x10 porch, pet friendly, and minutes from Beaufort, NC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
