Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Morehead City rental:

  • First, have your group agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Cloudburner West, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
