Tips and Tricks to get the best Morehead City rental home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Best Views on Emerald Isle has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
