Booking the best vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the best Morehead City vacation home:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. A Gritty Palace. Gorgeous. Oceanfront. Pool and Hot Tub! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
